The name ghee is derived from the Sanskrit word 'ghrita' (the root word 'ghr' meaning to brighten/shine), which is pronounced as ‘ghee' in Hindi. You may call it clarified butter in english.

Though a result of its Indian heritage, it is popularly known and acknowledged by the name ‘Ghee’ globally, and its incredible health advantages are known across the globe.

Numerous holy texts, notably the Puranas, state that ghee has always been produced using just cow's milk, which is widely regarded as the finest substance on Earth.

Everything edible was made using cow's milk, and ghee was one of the products back then. Indeed, ghee has been a necessary component of every religious ceremony, most notably as an offering for 'yagyna' or 'havan'.

Gulab Jamun: It comes from the north but is enjoyed all across the nation since it is prepared from khoya or mawa, depending on the region (milk solids heated and thickened until they reach a soft dough-like consistency). You need to combine khoya with flour and make them into tiny spheres before you deep-fry them in ghee over low heat until golden brown. Then dip them in the sugar syrup.

Jalebi: This simple golden treat made of maida, ghee and sugar syrup, which has a crispy surface and a soft inside bursting with sweetness, is a staple in Diwali.

Lyangcha- A slightly different form of gulab jamum famous in Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Assam, and Tripura. 

Mohanthaal: Popular in Gujarat and Rajasthan, this nutty brown confection is made with sweetened gram flour and ghee.

Karanji: It is also known as gujiya. You prepare this delicacy by using semolina or all-purpose flour, khoya, nuts and ghee .

Mysore Pak: It bears the name of the city from where it hails. This sweet is popular for melting in the mouth as you prepare it with ghee, sugar, gram flour.
